Muggy Monday

Already the air feels heavy and it is not even 8 am!! I can't decide whether to close the windows and try to keep what ever cool air we have in or if that will just make it feel stuffy.

Oh well guess it is a good day for stamping! Janet Wakeland and Marie Bennett both had videos on YouTube featuring alternate projects using the Simply Snowflakes Paper Pumpkin Kit from November of 2014. I still have a few so I guess it is time to create a few of their alternates. There just might be a card for the Christmas Card Class!

Rich and I went and saw the Minions movie on Saturday afternoon. It was funny and cute! I needed a good laugh.

I am planning to go to a crop on Thursday night with some friends where I hope I can make some progress on the school albums I started for my kids. I got most of the class pictures and first day  pictures gathered. Since it is a lot of stuff I think I will try to narrow down what I take so I don't have to make a bunch of trips up and down the stairs to the crop room. I am doing a mix of traditional and Project Life pages in these albums.

I hope you enjoy these even though the photo quality isn't great. I will share the pages I do on Thursday sometime soon.

Simply Snowflake November 2014 Paper Pumpkin Kit

So I am working on getting some things ready for a vendor/craft fair at the Winchester, NH VFW n Saturday. If you are local to the Monadnock Region I hope you will stop by. The theme is Christmas in July. How nice to get a bit of shopping out of the way while dressed in shorts and flip flops!!

A fellow demonstrator, Rachel Tessmen, from Stamp Your Art Out designed 80 cards using the November 2014 Simply Snowflake Paper Pumpkin Kit and some additional supplies.

Yesterday I made one of each card for a display board I am creating. I have 5 of these great kits that I will have for sale on Saturday. If you are a current Paper Pumpkin subscriber you can click here to get to the Past Kits page and order one for yourself! If you use Hostess Code 2TEF4GW6 and also order the additional supplies I will send you the document with directions as well as a special goodie from me!

So I finished the display board and I think it turned out pretty well. I hope it helps me sell the 5 Simply Snowflake Kits I will have for sale on Saturday. If they aren't sold Saturday I will post on Facebook and give you a chance to get one for yourself!! Of course if you took advantage of the current Paper Pumpkin opportunity to get the first two months at half off then you could order a kit for yourself as a Paper Pumpkin subscriber!

July Paper Pumpkin

I was so excited to get my July Paper Pumpkin Kit on Friday! I made myself wait until Fun Friday and opened it with the folks that were here. It is a very cute stamp set and project kit! The kit is called Thanks a Latte and has three greeting stamps, a coffee/tea cup and two plant stamps that are two step stamping!
The card is so sweet as designed by the artists at Stampin' Up! but fun to play around with as well.
I also looked around on YouTube using a search July Paper Pumpkin 2015 and found a few folks who had changed it up a little. Hawaii Paper Party shared the idea of creating a border around an extra piece of card stock using the negative space from around the orange stickers.
You can see that in the card on the left. I also used a small piece of Crushed Curry card stock.
The card to the right I created by cutting one of the DSP pieces from the kit in half vertically, I originally stamped the cup and teabag string right on the Whisper White but felt in needed a bit of color so I stamped it on a scrap of Soft Sky, cut it out and added it with dimensionals. I added one of the clips with ribbon from the kit.

One tip I have for you is that you should use a block a bit bigger than the image and if you are using the block that came with your first Paper Pumpkin Kit you should be fine. I was trying to use block A and it was hard to line up as I was looking through the edge part of the block. A block at least a little bigger allows you to more easily line up the two step images.

The weather forcast for Friday looks good so join me for Fun Friday from 3-6 in the screen house and see these in person for yourself!
