A Quick Taste of the new Catalog!

I am sure you are going to LOVE the new catalog as much as I do!! There are lots of fun new things in there! I participated in a swap with several other demonstrators and got some great card ideas back! All of these use stamps or designer series paper that are available in the new catalog.

This one uses the Crab & Company stamp set that was in a mini catalog last year and went on the fall dormant list. I am so glad he is back again!! The card base is Tempting Turquoise with Creamy Caramel for the "beach".

Stampin' Up! gave all of the demonstrators a great gift this year. They sent all of us a level 3 hostess set called Time Well Spent. It is a line art set with tons of watercoloring possibilities!! I love the two phrases that are included with the set! One says "Too much of a good thing is a good thing" and the other reads "Time spent with Friends is time well spent". The word friends is bigger than the other words. I have seen it colored lots of different ways that all highlight the word FRIENDS.

I used the big flower image and the new Ginger Blossoms Designer Series Paper to create my layout. I used Crystal Effects and my microbeads to create the center of the flower. I also used some of the textured card stock in Basic Gray as the card base.

I really like this image because you don't have to color in the whole thing. It looks great even when you only accent with color!

Stay tuned for more card ideas using the great sets and designer series paper. After the Ladies Night Out Catalog Kick Off events in Hinsdale and Marlborough I will post the two projects people were able to create. If you haven't told me you are coming please let me know soon so I am sure to have enough materials for you!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Okay, so on to stamping stuff. I got a batch of swaps back the other day. Some are really fabulous! I will try to photograph them tomorrow and post a few for you.

Snowy Sunday

What GREAT stamping weather! I did some stamping but mostly just worked on finishing my Christmas cards and getting them mailed.

Here is one of the cards that Lisa and I did at our Template Class this fall. We offered a class that featured 10 cards all based on the same template or layout. The layout we chose had a focal point at the top and three of something across the bottom.

We changed it up a bit and had the three one one side of a horizontal layout as in this next card using the True Friend set. In case you were bummed that you missed this set from the Holiday Mini Catalog...have no fear. It will be in the new Spring/Summer Collection!

I love the way so many of the images work with our punches!

This card was one we did not do at class but it does follow the layout template. This one uses the Double Line Doodles set. This set is on the retiring list and will only be available until the end of December. Let me know if it is on your must have list!
Enjoy the last days before the holidays...
We are heading to my mother-in-law's on Saturday and will return home on the 26th. If you have last minute orders feel free to send an e-mail to me at lpstamp@verizon.net or leave a message on the machine.
Merry Christmas to one and all!

Good Monday Morning

Well Stampin' Up! published the retiring accessories list this morning. I am trying to do this post this morning from school. I am having difficulty creating a link to the list. I was surprised to see all the spectrum pads on the list as well as silver and red glitter. Many of the Designer series papers that were fall and winter patters and colors but not the Designer print papers in the Stampin' Up! colors.

Please remember that these items are ones that are not produced by Stampin' Up!'s facility and so are limited to amounts currently available in the inventory. If there is something on the list that you really want to have please let me know right away! I will put orders in as I recieve them to try to be sure you get the items you want.

I will edit this post and create a link to the list as soon as I get home today.

Happy Monday!

How about those Patriots?! 13 - 0!!! WOW!!!

Well now i am home and still having trouble creating a link. I guess I may have to copy and paste it to an email. It is several pages long but includes mutiples of items such as all the 8 1/2 x 11 albums.

Please e-mail me at lpstamp@verizon.net if you want me to send the list to you.

Thanks so much!

Retirement Celebration

Retirement is a HAPPY time! So even though I am not happy about having 28 stamp sets on the retiring list...I am VERY HAPPY about the thought of the NEW sets that will be in the Spring/Summer Collection!
I am offering a special for the month of December. For every $10 you (or a gift giver for you) spends on retiring sets you wil earn $1 in Stampin' Bucks to spend in the new catalog in January (that's 10% for any "math challenged" folks like me!)!! I will keep track of all orders and total your Stampin' Bucks. If you are getting gifts from me via a Santa you know then I will include your Stampin' Bucks in a gift card holder for your stocking! Sound good? Orders placed by December 12th will be here in time for Christmas. Remember I giftwrap!! Did you notice the handy little check boxes on the retiring list? Use them to check your MUST HAVES then get me your list!!
Also, any order of $150 earns Hostess Benefits!! You and a few friends can put your lists together and earn some FREE goodies to boot!!

Patriots vs Steelers tomorrow at 4:15. Go Pats!!

Snowy Monday

I hope you are able to enjoy the lovely snow today. I have been lucky enough to watch it from inside but will soon have to venture out and shovel the driveway.

I thought I might share a few cards with you today.

This is one I designed for a shoebox swap in August. I used The Snowflake Spot and the Wintergreen DS paper. The card base is Soft Sky and the layers are Blue Bayou and Always Artichoke.

The Season By Season set that I used for the word Winter is on the retiring list. By sure to check out the list carefully as the sets that are retiring are only available until January 1st

This beautiful creation was on Stamper's Showcase today. Susan Wood created this wonderful card using the Snowfall stamp set and the Bold Snowflakes wheel!

I love the shadow effect she created!

Off to make lunch and then go shovel. Enjoy the lovely day!

Gifts Class

A few nights ago I did a fabulous class for a wonderful hostess and her guests. Each participant created 5 projects that could be used as a holiday gift or card. It was so much fun!! I thought you all might like to see the projects that they made.

This is the Holiday Organizer. I first saw it on Jen Peel's blog but I don't know where the original idea came from. This organizer uses a two-pocket folder (like the ones from Staples) that you fold inside out and then fold each side in half toward the center. This next photo may help to show what I mean.

The pockets are covered with coordinating card stock and designer series paper.

This is a great hostess gift ...think next Thanksgiving if you are invited somewhere!!

The next project has been around for a while. I first saw a tutorial on Split Coast Stampers more than a year or two ago but it is so cute that I bring it back every so often. It is a little "Nugget Box" and it fits 3 Hershey's Nuggets candies just perfectly!!

We used the Snow Burst set from the now expired Holiday Mini Catalog with Bashful Blue and Brilliant Blue card stock. A Snow Blossom punch and a rhinestone brad finshed them off beautifully!

We made a Z-fold card as well as a pocket card that I learned at Regionals in September. By Changing the card stock and stamps we got a very cute holiday gift card holder!

You can see the pocket on the inside in this picture. It is created in the folding process. This little card ends up being 4" square but starts out 4 x 12.

Another favorite project was the small photo book made with our clear envelopes! By sticking several envelopes together and creating a cover from card stock you can make a very cute little brag book. These are just perfect for sending to grandparents or to long distance relatives and friends. A child might like to receive one with pictures of family members or perhaps a series of photos from their younger days.

We used the ever popular Lovely As A Tree set to create a pretty winter scene on the cover of this one.

I refered to the Z-fold card earlier. They are so much fun and create a WOW moment for the recipient but are not all the difficult to create. This one uses the Jolliest Time of the Year stamp set. I really love this set!!

I hope you enjoyed these fun projects. Feel free to e-mail me at lpstamp@verizon.net for more detailed directions.

Until next time...I am off to design 5 cards for a class I am teaching on Tuesday evening.

Have a great Saturday!

Retirement List Contest

Dear Stamping Friends,
On December 1, 2007, Stampin' Up!'s list of retired stamp sets will be released. (The new Spring/Summer Collection will begin on January 1, 2008.)

For the next 10 days, I will be holding a contest. E-mail me a list of 10 stamps sets that you think will be retiring from the Fall/Winter Collection by Friday, November 30th at midnight (EST). The person who guesses the most stamp sets on the retiring list will win a $15 gift certificate from me. If there is a tie a drawing will be held to select one winner.

DO NOT INCLUDE ANY SETS FROM THE MINI CATALOGS OR ANY OF THE HOSTESS SETS!! This list is ONLY for stamps sets---NOT wheels or accessories.

Good Luck!

Stampin' Up! Demonstrators are not eligible for this contest

Stampin' Up! has also created a special promotion for the holiday shopping season. You can see the color flyer at http://www.stampinup.com/ and clicking on promotions or you can go there directly by using this link http://www.stampinup.com/us/documents/US_Wrapping_Flyer_1107.pdf Call or e-mail me if you have questions about this fabulous opportunity!

Happy Stamping,

Stampers Showcase

This is a card that I created for a new catalog swap or some such event. I love this stamp set called Punch Pals! There are so many great images and lots of them were designed to work with the punches we carry as well. I was thrilled that it got chosen to be featured on Stampin' Up!'s Stampers Showcase. This is part of the demonstrator section of the web site and they post 3 or 4 new samples every day! This is only the second time since I've been a demonstrator that I have had a card on Stamper's Showcase.
I hope you had a happy Monday and that your Thanksgiving is wonderful. Check back for "Black Friday" specials this coming Friday. Avoid the malls shop with me and save some green on things that are black!

Frosty Card

Good afternoon! I took pictures of the card samples I got in the "Back to the Basics" swap I was in. The rules for the swap were that you had to create a card that someone just starting out could buy all the supplies including adhesive for $50 or less. It was REALLY hard!! I got some great cards though!

This one used the Frosty set $17.95, Basic Black ink pad $5.25, 2 Stampin write markers $6.50, Very Vanilla Card Stock $7.50, Assorted Card Stock that matches markers $7.95, and the Anywhere Glue Stick $3.95 for a total before S/H or taxes of $49.10!! With these supplies you could make 6 cards just like this one!

This one also used the Frosty stamp set $17.95, Night of Navy stamp pad $5.25, Real Red Stampin' Write Marker $3.25, Bashful Blue card stock $5.50, Assorted Neutrals card stock (Basic Black and Whisper White) $7.95, Signo White Gel Pen $3.95, and the 2-Way Glue Pen $3.50 for a total before S/H and taxes of $47.35! You could make about 36 cards just likethis one with the supplies listed!

So even though this was really hard it was a great thing to do! It is easy to create great cards if you don't have a budget...but that is not the way it is for many stampers! This lesson made me think about just getting started and what could someone order and have all they needed to make a great card without breaking the bank.

I will post more of these great cards soon. I also will be posting some of the cards made with a single template. My upline Lisa and I did a 10 card class based on one layout. The cards were great and everyone seemed to like them. I hope you will too!

Be sure to keep checking back here for some fabulous specials that can only be found right here! There will be a "Black Friday" special and also I will introduce "The 12 Days of Christmas".

Happy Stamping!

Happy Friday!

Wow! Even though it was a short work week for me it seemed like it took Friday forever to arrive! I sure am glad it is here!!
I think I love this set even more than the cute little truck from Loads of Love. This is from the Boatloads of Love set. I have seen so many cute cards done with it. Someone in our stamping group paired this set with the curvy words from Stem Sayings. The curves looked like waves and it just finished the card off in a fantastic way!

This particular card was part of a WOW swap at our Fall Fest. I took pictures of all the cards so I will be able to share them with you!
How cute is this?! This is another of the great Make 'N' Take projects from Fall Fest. We used the Crop-O-Dile to punch the holes in the tin bucket...soooo easy! What a fabulous tool!! The flowers are chip board and we covered pens with floral tape for the stems!
I love these quick and cute projects that make great gifts! My sister-in-law would love this. Perhaps I will make her one for Christmas!
Have a super weekend!
Go Patriots!! That is perhaps something else you should know about me...I am a HUGE New England Patriots football fan! The license plate on my van is IM4PATS. So here is cheering for another win...10-0 here we come!
Until next time...

Had Monday Off

Well, I did not have to go to my job at school today but there was still lots to do! I made pancakes for my son since we didn't have to rush for any busses and got some vacuuming done. Michael's and Joanne Fabrics were both having sales so I went and got a few bargins. Finished a few more Christmas cards and rounded up the supplies to repair Stephen's favorite blanket.
This cute little two pocket bag can be made with one sheet of 12x12 Designer Series Paper! How cute and easy!! This month all Stampin' Up!'s Double-sided Designer Series Paper is Buy 3 packages get 1 FREE. Call or e-mail me to place your order today lpstamp@verizon.net !!
Here is another cute project that uses the Designer Series paper. It also uses the Print Pattern Background Stamp. What a fun little trinket for holiday place settings or as a stocking stuffer!
I guess that this is a fine second post. I will try to post again soon.

The Very First One!

Well it seems everyone has a blog so why not me? Now I just have to figure out how to add pictures and such to make it interesting!

So that was pretty easy! This is one of the great swaps I got when I went to the Orlando Stampin' Up! Regional. I got tons of great swaps and learned so much while I was there! This card uses the Spotted Snowflake set and the Dashing Designer Series Paper. All Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper is on special for the month of November! When you purchase 3 packages the fourth one is FREE!! I have lots arriving later this week!

Time for dinner since my wonderful husband made hot roast beef subs for us!
